5150 App Setup (187 Models)
For 187 Bluetooth systems only. Use the guide below to connect your controller, assign zones, and start customizing colors and effects.

Turn vehicle power ON.

Open the 5150 Whips app.

Tap the Bluetooth icon.

Select your 187 controller.

Create a group.

Assign your zones.

Tap Edit to customize colors, effects, speed, and brightness.
Troubleshooting
- Restart the app.
- Cycle vehicle power.
- Reconnect Bluetooth.
- Reinstall the app if needed.
Pro Tip
If the controller does not appear right away, make sure the system has power and Bluetooth is enabled on your device before reopening the app. If the controller no longer appears, make sure it is not already paired to another phone.
Light Shows
Choose from preset lighting effects or run AUTO mode.
Zone Control
Assign lights to groups for synchronized or separated control.
Music Sync
Sync your lighting with music directly from your device.
Color Control
Create custom colors with RGB sliders or the color wheel.
Custom Light Show
Build your own light show or dial in one exact custom color directly in the app.
- Open the Groups tab and create a new group.
- Tap Edit to open the color wheel.
- To build a custom light show or use one solid color, remove any saved or factory colors shown in the center using the trash can icon.
- Tap the + button to add each new color.
- Adjust speed, brightness, style, and direction to fine-tune the final effect.
Remove saved colors first, then tap the + button to build your own custom pattern.
187 Controller Wire Harness

PNP (Plug & Play) Harness Wiring
The PNP harness connects battery power, a rocker switch, and your whip controller through a fused wiring lead.
Connection Flow
Battery → Switch → Controller → Whips
Wire Color Guide
- RED (fused) — Battery Positive (+)
- BLACK (fused) — Battery Ground (−)
- BLUE — Bottom switch pins
- WHITE — Middle switch pin
- BLACK (x2) — Top switch pins
Always route wiring away from hot or moving parts and verify the fuse is installed before powering the system.
Remote Control Systems
For RF remote whip systems only. Not for Bluetooth, Hyper, or 187 systems.
Remote Button Functions
- Power — On / Off
- Mode — Change lighting patterns
- Speed — Adjust animation speed
- Bright — Adjust brightness
- Color — Change colors
- Demo — Cycle through all modes
